Thank you davehawley and leocg. http://thenextweb.com/insider/2012/07/25/netotiate-encourages-online-haggling-with-new-website-plug-in/ describes the new "marketing service" I found offered at www.netotiate.com. I searched the registry and could not find a key with "netotiate" in the name. I then blocked cookies and local storage for netotiate.com, www.netotiate.com, and plugin.netotiate.com, all of which I found listed in Opera/Settings/Privacy and Security/All cookies and site data. Blocking all three seems to have worked. Thank you so much.

How to remove netotiate plug-in?Opera for Windows
Recently Opera has been running slowly and crashing/hanging. I accidentally discovered a new plug-in that doesn't show up on the official Opera browser plug-in list that can be accessed through Settings. The plugin appears to be from Netotiate.com and I do not recall giving permission for its installation. In addition, it is not [yet] seen as malware by Norton 360. My file finding software found two files with the same name: http-plugin-netotiate.com-0; they are listed as located in my AppData\Roaming\Opera Stable\Local Storage\ directory. However, all the files in that directory are .localstorage or .localstorage-journal files and none of the names contain "plugin_netotiate". How do I uninstall this plugin? The files do not show up the list of programs generated by Windows/Control Panel/Programs and Features or in another uninstaller I use. Or, can I just delete the appropriate files in the Local Storage directory? If so, how can I tell which two files are the correct ones to delete? None of the file names in that directory have names that are recognizable. I have a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 system. Thank you.
