So I was just updated to Opera 22 and now I see that "bookmark bar" showing prominently with an in your face message alerting everyone 'for quick access, add your bookmarks here". Is there a way to get rid of this thing? What happened to the days when browsers were made to be sleek, organized an appealing?

Why anyone would want to load down their browser with nasty looking bookmark folders id beyond me. I think most would want a bookmark section that is hidden, so as not to take away from the look of the browser, no?

Problem fixed. Some how Opera was put into "Off Road' mode. Unchecked it and Speed Dial can be updated again.

As of last week, Speed Dial no longer will update/reload thumbnails. In the past, I have always been able to change the thumbnail to the current front page of the websites I had saved. That is no longer the case.

Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions?

Not a priority but Themes are I guess. So many other items I am used to using with Opera are gone also. No home button, bookmarks are gone or at least the way to be to the them...and that bookmarks bar is terrible. It looks terrible out in the open. It will clutter very fast taking up more browser real estate and making it look even more messed up.

Since this Chromium based browser has been in the works since Opera 15 when exactly will time be made for what used to make Opera , Opera. I'm not asking you personally just asking rhetorically out of frustration.

Thanks for that suggestion angiesdom. It turns out an extension called "Disconnect" was the problem.

I'm curious why skins are no longer available for Opera 20. I know "Themes" seem to have replaced skinning but the Themes do nothing for the top area of the browser/tool bar area. We are stuck with a drab light grey on dark grey color scheme when in the past there were many colorful skin packages available.

I started using Opera 20 one week ago after year of the Presto version. I have found Opera 20 doesn't always display pics and YouTube video that are inserted at a website. I have tried going to these websites using FireFox 27 and another Chromium based browser known as Iron and everything displays perfectly. I also checked for anything in setting that may have been turned off but have come up with nothing. Is this a bug or am I missing something here?
