And as I had thought I had done before I posted. Mistakes happen but some people don't admit them like I just did and did you ever do what I asked and actually compare as that would have been an immediate signal that I had missed something. I guess you don't want to admit that you didn't compare or you would have mentioned it. I have been using Opera since back into the early versions of it and I have occassionely used the various versions of the forum and found the other users very helpful but I don't think I will bother in future. Have a good day and be happy that you have given me good reason to not come back.

RE: [Solved]YouTube DisplayOpera for Windows
Except I just went back and checked and I had missed one extension which was the culprit. Problem solved and I thank you for your interest.

RE: [Solved]YouTube DisplayOpera for Windows
Try the link below in Opera and another browser, I used the latest version of MS Edge but FF does the same thing. I have cleared all browsing history, cache etc but perhaps there are other things to do as well. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKNCbBWiMiXBVXUmUuu_dsQ
Note the top banner and the options under it such as videos and playlists are missing or they are on my screen. I also get a video error saying log in later on most YT videos when starting a video but if I wait a while then it goes to the video. The error problem only started a few weeks ago and I am seriously not using Opera for YT due to this last problem.

RE: [Solved]YouTube DisplayOpera for Windows
Thanks for the helpful reply I don't think, did you even try using another browser and seeing if you see a difference in the way YT is displayed on both?

[Solved]YouTube DisplayOpera for Windows
Why does Opera display YT differently to every other browser with no banner header or the line showing Home, Video Playlists etc plus other quirks I have encountered but can't recall now. As a very long time (+20 years?) rusted on user I have never noticed this before until I happened to use a different browser after someone asked me what I had done to cause the problem. So I ask why is this so?

RE: Tab BehaviourOpera for Windows
Every link on both computers exhibit the same behaviour without exception but yes I can have the same page open on both computers and the same link is treated differently as I described.

Tab BehaviourOpera for Windows
I have Opera 48 on two separate computers and they both behave differently. On the desktop when I click on a link the link opens in the same tab but on my laptop the link opens in a new tab. I know if I middle click on the desk top that opens a new tab from the link but I am puzzled by the different behaviour between the two computers. There used to be a setting to open a link in a new tab but it seems to have disappeared so if it is not there why do my two computers act differently.

Thumbs Up For Opera 20Opera for Windows
Like a lot of others I too have been using Opera for a damned long time, back to at least 6 and possibly before. It has been noticeable for some time that it lacked a lot compared to more modern browsers when surfing the net and anyone who has half a brain would see that instead of putting the blinkers on and living in the dark ages. This new version is so much better than the old I fail to see where the problems lay FOR THE AVERAGE HOUSEWIFE OR USER that does not know more than the off button. A few nerds have got their knickers in a knot because it does not have so many toys but those few users will not support a business, it needs a large pool of users who do not understand anything to make the business worthwhile and the average user is what will make it survive not the ten nerds criticising it in these pages.
I will illustrate what I mean by pointing out that due to Opera's inability to render all sites on the net there was a button made to link straight to Explorer when Opera failed. That is a clearly stupid situation for any browser to link to another one, it admits failure straight away. Yes, a few features are absent but hardly anyone used them apart from a few whingers here who add up to a small part of the user base when it is all said and done. Stay with 12 or move to another browser but don't denigrate a genuine attempt to bring Opera up to date and equal with other browsers. History is all well and good but it is not the future. I will await the outbursts of indignation and whatever else is fired at this post but it won/t change anything.
