Yep. I did it just now. It offers something I can have always on the top of my menu. That's not what I want. I want what safari, firefox and others have; a menu > bookmarks > add folder > rename folder > add bookmarks in folder. My old version of Opera on my mac side (before my hard drive crashed) used to have this too.
I just had a friend do a search on the issue and it appears to be related to Opera 15. correction:I mean 18. Others too seem to have the same issue. And no Ctl + D is dysfunctional.
if it works for you, do not upgrade to v18. I was given no choice as I had to start over. Is there a way I can revert to an older version of opera?

Uninstalled Opera 18 and downloaded version 12.16. Fixed it. Phew! Just beware of 18. You lose the ability to make bookmarks. Such a shame they took away that feature.
