@burnout426 Thank you so much but I was delighted to see that an apparent glitch caused my computer to reset itself overnight and Opera was back as normal this morning! No idea what caused this problem but I'm glad it resolved itself. Will refer to your note if it ever happens again.

Using updated w10/Pro for some reason Opera Update will not work. I've tried to completely clean the previous installation but must be missing something since the installer package recognizes my name. How can I completely purge the previous install so a fresh one will take instead of hanging at about 99% on the install bar? Searching Opera shows nothing but an old Browser.lnk that i cannot delete.
