I'm so done with Opera at this point!
I have tried everything to block Opera from updating to Opera One.
No idea how or even WHY they secretly upgrade from "99.0.4788.88_0" to the latest 102.0.4880.56 without even a popup or something even saying its up dating .
I do know while your using your browser the latest will get installed , then your shortcut gets redirected to the "new" installed launcher pointing to the new folder! The only way I realize I've been updated again , is the Icon for the speed dial is missing from the bar.
I have renamed and then just deleted the opera_autoupdate.exe to stop the updates.
Used the switch in the launcher to stop looking for updates with --disable-update like Opera says to do to stop the updates. Going to the settings and checking the updates / version , sure enough it even says the updates ARE disabled!
Opera One(version: 102.0.4880.56)
Update checker is disabled
Even when I go check the properties of the "current" browser file which is a shortcut to 99.0.4788.88_0 version , and when you go to the 99.0.4788.88_0 folder and look at the version information , it still displays 99.0.4788.88_0 as the Opera.exe file version. But when you launch that application , its really 102.0.4880.56!
So I'm completely done fighting this application. Sucks as I really liked Opera and have been using it for a very long time.
I'll use my Avast browser for now until I can find another browser I like. No idea why they keep pulling this crap. I don't like or want Opera One.
