Ok, nevermind. After digging around, I see that there are TWO versions of "Opera for Mac". v.23 and v.12. WTF??
No mention on the Opera for Mac landing page that what you will download is 32 bit Opera based on GOOGLE CHROME. Again WTF??
If I wanted to run Google Chrome (which I most definitely do NOT want to do), I would just run um.. Google Chrome? WTF??
bye bye Opera

Why is Opera (23.0.1522.75) on my Mac (OS X 10.9.4) running as 32 bit???Opera for Mac
My system is entirely (well, 99%) 64 bit:
Macbook Pro, Retina, Mid 2012
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
OS X 10.9.4 “Mavericks”From the Opera Help page:
32-bit or 64-bit? For Mac, the 32-bit build has ceased from Opera 12. We are distributing a Universal Binary containing both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. This means all users on systems that supports 64-bit will use that, or otherwise fallback to 32-bit.But Activity Manager Reports Opera running as 32 bit:
Opera 5.6 MB 72 KB 32 Bit
Opera Helper 56 KB 0 bytes 32 Bit
Opera Helper 0 bytes 0 bytes 32 Bit
Opera Helper 104 KB 0 bytes 32 Bit
Opera Helper 8 KB 0 bytes 32 BitI'm not interested in running a 32 bit browser.
What do I have to do to enable the 64 bit version? Thanks
