Someone suggested that I give Opera a try so I thought, why not? I downloaded it and was anxious to see what it might have over the 3 others I have used, Firefox, Edge and Chrome. So after the installation I clicked on a site and it just tried and tried to connect and finally came back with a timed out message. Tried several times more with different sites and still no luck. I don't need the browser but now I am just very curious as to what is preventing it from working. It says it is using the system settings for Network connection and I am not using a proxy.

I just downloaded Opera last night and was eagerly anticipating using it to see how it would compare to Chrome, but alas, I cannot go anywhere or do anything. Settings underNetwork are the same as Chrome," Google Chrome is using your computer's system proxy settings to connect to the network." I am not using Proxy. I can't access the HELP page in Opera so hope I can get some help here. Thanks in advance.
