Cant save data typed in form fieldsOpera for Android
Using opera browser 26 and Insignia tablet with android 4.4.2, I spent half a hour this moening trying to save data I thped into a form field. More specifically, I was trying to add a new shipping address before purchasing. Same problem after writing a comment. I cannot send the comments.
The form fields pop up like a pop up. I fill out the form field but cannot scroll down to click on the save button or submit button. After writing a comment in the comment form fields that pop up, I cannot scroll down to the post button.
Clicking on the back arrow key reloads the webpage thereby deleting all of what I typed.

RE: Opera browser won't installOpera for Android
How can I check whether mini is compatible by using the stock browser by going to m.opera.com? I cant download because there is no direct download link.

RE: Opera browser won't installOpera for Android
Reading app description on playstore website requires a google account. I dont want a google account. Google spies and is a member of PRISM. Since there is a direct download for opera browser on opera's website, compatibility info should be included.

RE: Opera browser won't installOpera for Android
Tnanks leocg. Opera's description of Opera Browser should include compatibility and a direct download link to Classic for older android devices like mine.
Do you know if Mini or Max are compatible with Android version 2.3.4 Gingerbread?

Opera browser won't installOpera for Android
Opera browser installed on my tablet android4.4.2 version but not on my Motorola Droid 3 version android 2.3. Error message: "Parse error: There is a problem parsing the package." What does this mean? How to troubleshoot?

RE: Opera help contactOpera for Android
Thanks to linuxmint7 posting the direct link to download Opera Classic without requiring google play store. I downloaded Opera Classic. I am pleased Classic displays address bar, has zoom option to enlarge text so less difficult to edit text and correct typos in form field, offers word wrap and has other features. It is a pity the new release of Opera senselessly removed these essential functionalities.

RE: User AgentOpera for Android
Thanks for explaining why desktop view is not reliable. Any way to spoof screen size? Libre linx distro spoofed screen resolution by default to circumvent screen fingerprinting. Spyware tracks by screen resolution.

RE: Direcr download for Max?Opera Max
Few choices of operating systems in the world. Unfortunately Applecaused HP Palm to go out of business and Blackberry to almost go out of business.
My android apps are open source from f-droid.org. No google account required.

RE: Font sizeOpera for Android
I am very disappointed with android browsers. They allow the advertisements to take the majority of the screen. Default font is too small. Difficult to copy text on webpage to paste elsewhere.
Difficult to edit what I type in a form field, comment field, new thread, etc. Unless i am using a slider smartphone with qwerty keyboard, I have to use a narrow stylus to move the cursor in betwwen words to correct error. Even a thin stylus which is thinner than my finger is too large. I have to tap several times to get the cursor in the right position. Very labor intensive. I dont know why tablets replaced laptops.

RE: Instructions in FAQ on downloading youtube doesnt workOpera for Android
I long pressed a youtube URL. No download menu appeared. If if this false instructions, the instructions need to be revised or deleted from opera mobile browser's FAQ in the menu.

RE: How to get desktop site?Opera for Android
Thanks linxmint7 for the instructions. I changed user agent to desktop. I will see if websites comply.
Thanks sgunhouse for explaining how it works and prblem using linux. We both use linux and android. I have always used the preinstalled browsers in linux which are never Opera.
I need to switch from firefox for android to opera because firefox's 'Request for desktop site' constantly unticks itself, phony addon doesnt work and because tutorata.de encrypted email is not compatible with firefox for android.
I didnt buy a tablet to surf to mobile sites. Opera should develop a browser for tablets with desktop view as default or only option. I am considering discarding my tablet and returning to a larger and heavier linux laptop.

Direct download for MiniOpera Mini
Opera browser for android has a direct download link. Mini and Max do not. Why? A google account is required to use google play store. If I wanted a google account, I would use chrome. Google runs in the background and spies and is a member of PRISM. Opera should not require customers to have a google account.
