We're terribly sorry you experienced this. Can you give us some more details about your iOS 10 upgrade, like:
Did you update over the air? Did you have little free space on your phone when you upgraded?

If you sync via iCloud, it's possible that icloud still has your speed dials. You can try to delete the app and reinstall it. Other than that I don't have any good advice, since app data is unavailable to normal users, there are no easy solutions...

The iOS browser team is really excited about showing you what we have been working on the last few months. Today we are releasing a beta of a new browser for iOS.

Looks like a new issue in iOS 9, and I have just fixed it. I'll make sure we'll include it in the next update. Nobody in our team uses a hardware keyboard, so that's why we didn't see this. Thanks for letting us know!

There is currently no way for Opera Coast to hook into the ad blocking system on iOS. Apple made that only available for Safari. We're considering what we should do with it though, so stay tuned.

On the other hand, I personally fear that most sites will in the future make it much more difficult to block ads for ad blockers since it is now part of Safari for iOS. There's going to be a lot of things happening in the ad blocking space the next year!

In Opera Coast, you have to scroll to the top to refresh the page. Luckily this is as easy as tapping the status bar with the clock on the top.

I don't understand the second question entirely. The easiest way to add a site to your home screen is by dragging it up from the dock: http://www.opera.com/help/coast/ios#new

If you want to set a specific icon for it, you can do that through the share menu on the bottom left. Look for an icon with a down arrow and 9 tiles. (It's only there when you don't have the site on your home screen). Hope this helps!

When the "email cites the main website", I think the link is actually for the article even if the text doesn't say so, can you please test it by sending an email to yourself?

We're going to look at these problems and we're taking it very seriously. I've told a developer to start by looking at the sites that you have mentioned here, but also look a bit more generally that we issue too many warnings.

A couple of questions, which could speed up fixes:

• can you open the security pane and paste the contents (or a screenshot) the next time it happens?
• do you connect using hotspots or other similar types of connections where you have to log in to get internet access or how do you connect?

Opera Coast approaches safety differently from other browsers as it does not show overall encryption status separately, but considers it as part of a whole. For example, broken encryption is much worse if you are viewing your bank account than the website of ​a​ local ​restaurant.

Opera Coast will warn you when something happens that may try to deceive you or expose sensitive information​. If your connection to your bank suddenly breaks or weakens, the app will step in and make sure you're aware of any potential danger.

​In the particular case of filippo.io, Opera Coast interprets the page's security to be right between poor and good.​ The page loads untrusted elements, but it does not ask for a password or other sensitive information. If the page did ask for personal information, Opera Coast would warn you that it is not safe. Or, if the user came to this site from a trusted and safe source (i.e. not Google or other search engine), the app would also warn you.

We are continuously working on Opera Coast's security interpretations and will refrain from loading unsafe elements in future versions of the app.

There is no concept of tabs so it is not possible. If you think of the button on the bottom right, it opens all the recent sites, much like iOS own double tap on the home button. All of the sites/apps in Recent Sites are not loaded, so if you open one of them, it might have to download the content again. Whether they are loaded or not is automatic and depends on the memory of the device. Just like the apps in iOS. If you open an app you opened a few days ago, you will see that it has to start up again.

If I continue on that analogy, there is no way to make another tab/instance for apps in iOS. You can't open 2 clocks or mails.

It is not possible to change an icon for an existing website in Coast, but there is another feature for this: you can create a separate tile for another webpage and for that one you can change the icon.

Say you for instance have bbc.com as one site, but you want bbc.com/sports as a second one and they are normally minimized to the same one. Go to bbc.com/sports and open the recent sites. Tap on the 3 dots on the top and select the "Add to home" icon. If you swipe on the icon, you can select another icon.

The browser engine all third party browsers currently use on iOS is UIWebView. Since iOS 8, Safari uses WKWebView. They are quite similar, except for a few things, and one of those things is Indexed DB support.

We have found a bug in Coast that will trigger automatic refreshing way too often. We are working on a fix and will include it in an update.

A quick google search tells me that this is not supported by Apple, as all other browsers than Safari use UIWebView on iOS:
