Yeah, I think I may have scrolled mouse or something and switched to different forum - can I change it? Otherwise let's just call it "A suggestion to really really deliver something different to Opera Next to make current/former users of Opera happy again."

Why do I (you) still keep using older (v12) version?Opera for Windows
There is several reasons, why I have rolled back to v12 several times already. I keep trusting Opera so I DO try from time to time if it's moving toward my expectations. Nope, unfortunately the new Opera Next does not work for me yet... Let me tell you - I use Opera for over a decade, because Opera used to be simply different. Now I don't really find major difference between Opera and Chrome besides an icon.
Major reasons why I always go back to v12...
- Mouse gestures. I have tried many browsers with extensions to get it as close as possible to what I am used to in Opera, without success. Opera v12 and previous still have the most accurate, logical by default mouse gestures I've ever tried. Typical things - down+left to go to previous tab; right click the link+down - opens the link in a new tab etc. - I assume it can be configured, however WHY? I have used Opera for the last decade (actually longer) and for last years I just installed and started gesturing... Accuracy and comfort with extensions in new Opera and other browsers simply is not the same.
- Tabs arrangement. Ever since I switched to wide-screen, I got used to have my tabs on right panel side, for many years I am used to it and I just don't like tabs on the top. It's just UI, nothing to do with engine behind it, am I correct? For me it's just a matter of comfort that can be achieved in Firefox with extension, yet it looks, feels and works the best in Opera v12 (especially in combination with mouse gestures, grouping, locking tabs etc.).
Opera, if you are after the new users only and you have no plans to make your current/former users happy, just say that openly and set the right expectations. Frankly speaking - I have no reasons nor intentions to have two Google Chromes on my PC with different icon. Make your Opera DIFFERENT again and I'll be happy, keep it as a copy of Chrome, and Opera is gone for me. No threatening intended, just simple statement of logic. Thanks for reading it...
