Why can't popups be blocked on the browser. Is this a new strategy that web dev's are using more and more. I note that Vivaldi does not allow these popups. With the right set up, neither does Firefox. When will the opera team come up to this same standard. I'm sure you can have it ignore your VPN and Crypto ads. This browsers offers a good browsing experience, but as I said the popups are concerning and annoying enough to just use another browser that can block them.
@leocg Interesting. I would say they just as annoying and do get in between you and the web page. The example there shows a smaller one. Others are not too much bigger, but are still an annoyance, especially when other browsers can be set to not allow them. I hope that this choice can be added to Opera in the future. Browsing doesn't get much better, in my opinion, than on the under recognized Opera browser. It may be things like this that have banking sites and such that suggest, upon loading their sites, to download Chrome, or Firefox. Maybe they view the browser as too easy to manipulate, along with their obvious Fanboy behavior towards these other browsers. There is always room for competition and one of the reasons I use Opera and Vivaldi. Both do a great job at providing a good user experience. But... I lean towards Opera for my everyday more mundane uses and some safer exploring. I hope you can widen the field, so to speak.
In any event thanks for a great Browser.
@leocg sites that have a video, that, once you scroll down past it, opens a small frame less window where the video continues to play (if you did not stop it from playing). Even a stopped/paused video still pops up. Some news sites, blogs, sites that have a YouTube presence.
Here is an example.

This one places a frameless video in the top right corner. Usually they appear near the bottom on the right though, telling me that this is just copied code, for lack of originality.
In any event, these are not going caught, at the moment and I'm sure sooner or later they will be exploited to deliver other content. Namely adds.

It would be great to have something other than white where we could pick the color, or have the folder backgrounds adjust them selves based on the selected theme, or major color used for the browser background. White does not look good all the time and looks out of place with some themes.
Please consider at least having the theme adjust the backgrounds to something that blends better.
... I hope we will see some version of 'Opera One' come to mobile soon. It looks really good!
Thanks for listening.
