Browser cache and temporary files are really dangerous if I use SSD?
The cache files are small and very-very short-life, and exist a lot of them.

I have an SSD with TLC memory chips.

The download feature is totally useless-why?

I use Opera latest under Win8 x64.
I used it so far without problem, but today happened something strange.
I can't download anything form web.
Example: www.opera.com --> download
and happens nothing.
I see: If your download does not start automatically, please click here.
I click "here". Happens nothing.
And this strange error affect all websites. I tried right click on download url, and choose: save content as: happens nothing.
I tried reinstall Opera: no result.
The settings are the default, I use only an Adblock addon. I tried disable the addon: no result.
