@frmg Absolutely agree.
I'm only an end user, but the process is a maze of inadequate/incomplete instructions and basically not fit for purpose.
On teh several attempts I've made to sync, I've run out of time/the will to live before reaching synchronised nirvana and remain unsynched.
They should either abandon it if they're not prepared to put some effort in, or sort it out.
It's got me actually looking for an alternative browser, which is not appealing.

[Duplicated]Still can't synchroniseSynchronization
This is the most frustrating thing ever* - Apparently I'm successfully logged in, I can match the code numbers by scanning the QR code (it knows my phone is here) but I just can't get the blasted thing to connect - It's all unclear (and not like the ghastly glib video that's supposed to show you how because it doesn't show anything useful).
My phone just goes "failed to connect".
Can anyone help me clear this hurdle please? I'd be very grateful Many thanks.
*I managed to sync once a good few years ago but my occasional subsequent tries have been defeated again & again. I'm clearly not alone. -
Change appearance of Opera?Appearance
I'm not generally bothered with messing around with the cosmetics of programs, but I find the recent-ish Opera change/facelift to be disorientating at times, as there are no "edges" to the windows and the elements therein are are not obviously "contrained" .
Is there any way of changing this? Even if the pale blue background was darker, it would at least show up (tried dark theme but really don't like).
My Linux Mint desktop puts a drop shadow round windowed objects, so you can see the extents readily, but this doesn't happen with Opera, it's just pale or white fragmented elements on pale or white whatever's underneath and the boundaries aren't clear to me (yes, I'm old. Happens to everyone, bear that in mind... ) Are there any sensible solutions to this, or is it just a question of living with it (or changing browser)? Thanks. -
Sync Android to Opera on Linux MintSynchronization
Hi, I've just had another session on trying to achieve this - have never got it to work.
From my android, I scan the PC QR code and it says "follow the instructions on the pc"
but on the PC I then get taken to sync settings and nothing more happens. The phone gives me a 6 digit code, but I don't get an entry field on the PC.
I've been round in circles for nearly two hours now (pretty much the same as previous attempts - loads of time, no success)
I've looked at youtubes and read loads of responses here but still not managed to make any progress.
Can anyone please give me any pointers as to what critical (undocumented) step(s) I'm missing. Is it an Opera thing or a linux issue ....? Many thanks -

Buttons/elements of web pages not workingOpera for Linux
Linux Mint 17, Opera 41.0.2353.69
On some web pages (ebay, talktalk, western union - all big names), sometimes elements like buttons won't work or some fields don't show up.
Anyone else experience this? How to resolve?

SOme web page buttons not workingOpera for Linux
Hi, Running Opera 38 on Linux Mint 17, 64bit, 16gb RAM
Recently I've found that on some pages, buttons don't work - typically a "submit" or other action button. (Yahoo groups "reply" & Western Union "Login" spring to mind)
If I do stuff - refresh, restart Opera etc, I can sometimes get it to work but not sure what the successful action is.
Any pointers to where I should look would be appreciated.
Thanks - Opera for Linux

RE: Opera 30 become unuseableOpera for Linux
Not fixed. Doesn't seem to have been a completely clean reinstall as al my extensions are still there disabled.

RE: Opera 30 become unuseableOpera for Linux
Thanks for that. Disabling everything didn't do it so I uninstalled/reinstalled. Definitely functioning better, possibly properly!
I copied the whole opera directory - which of the subfolders do I NOT want to copy back (potential troublemakers)?
Thank you for your time.

RE: Opera 30 become unuseableOpera for Linux
Thanks, I'll work through these although I have the same extensions (fewer actually) than in my previous install.
Two points: what are flags? and I'd like to keep my bookmarks, do I just copy yje bookmarks folder to somewhere safe, then reinstate it?
Thanks
