This issue seems to still be around. I checked my pinboards this morning and all of them (20+) were just gone, even though I didn't use any system cleaners nor did I install or change anything vital about my system. As it happens I even had synchronization turned on as long as I've been using Opera and it didn't help whatsoever. I even have a bookmark to my pinboards page and it also leads me to an entirely empty pinboard section.
As many other users already stated here in this thread I'm pretty disappointed, I also saw the Opera pinboards as a great alternative to other note apps and extensions but such a substantial bug is completely unacceptable.
I'd quite mission-critical information stored in some of my pinboards, lost everything now and I know that it's kind of my fault because I didn't back up that information elsewhere but stuff like this simply shouldn't happen.
In addition, you're not even able to back up your pinboards in any comfortable way and backing it up by copying it to another file isn't just as easy as CRTL+A, copy and paste it into that file. Every time you want to do a backup you have to click into every single pinboard headline and text field manually, which is extremely tiring, at least for me.
All in all, I think:

1. Such a major bug/issue should've been patched as soon as the first person reported about it, it shouldn't be a thing even months after a forum thread like this one was opened.
2. You should be able to backup your pinboards to a specific file of your choice.
3. Synchronization should just work and save all of your pinboards.
4. If stuff like this has happened you should be clearly notified/it should be understandably stated somewhere before using such a broken feature.

In case someone found a way to recover your pinboards somehow, I would be more than happy if someone could contact me or answer my post here

This is my absolute favorite of all the animated backgrounds on here. I have been using it for months now and still love like on day one. It's so beautiful and also really relaxing. Sometimes when I wake up and sit down at my PC to drink my coffee I just watch it go for a few minutes. That's my kind of meditation

@mogwa Ach tatsächlich. Das hätte ich mir gar nicht gedacht, dass das kein Feature im normalen Opera Browser ist, deshalb habe ich meine Aussage auch nicht spezifiziert. Ich habe wohl den normalen Opera Browser schon lange nicht mehr genutzt, etliche Jahre schon nicht mehr um ehrlich zu sein

@berndleutenecker Die Arbeitsbereiche sollten sich genauso mit deinem Opera-Account synchronisieren wie deine Lesezeichen auch. Was meinst du mit Neustart, du hast den Browser geschlossen, neu geöffnet und deine Workspaces waren weg?
Falls dem so ist, geh mal in deine Einstellungen und schau bei deinen erweiterten Synchronisations-Einstellungen nach ob da alle richtigen Häkchen gesetzt sind.

@hguse Das ist äußerst seltsam aber toll, dass es nun funktioniert. Das hätte ich dir tatsächlich auch als nächstes vorgeschlagen neu zu installieren bzw. wenn es dann noch immer nicht funktioniert hätte, eine andere Version zu installieren. Jedoch muss ich sagen, dass mir das wirklich komisch vorkommt, eigentlich hätte dein Browser auch in der anderen Version in der Lage sein sollen den Livestream abzuspielen.

@hguse Mhh da passt eigentlich alles, habe exakt das gleiche Ergebnis wie du. Schick mal noch einen Screenshot von dem Stream den du da schauen willst dann werde ich mich dahingehend mal weiter informieren. Funktionieren bei dir denn Twitch-Streams ganz normal (z.B.: https://www.twitch.tv/own3d_music)?

@hguse Ne gut, du hast nen ganz normales Windows 10 Pro. Dann geh nochmals auf die Seite hier (https://html5test.com/) und mach Screenshots davon. Stell die Seite dabei aber kleiner dar, damit du mehr auf einen Screenshot drauf bekommst mit STRG+Mausrad nach hinten. Ansonsten wär's vielleicht auch noch hilfreich nen Screenshot davon zu haben wie dieser Stream bei dir aussieht der nicht funktioniert.

@hguse Weil bei bestimmten Windows N Versionen das Windows Media Pack nicht installiert ist, welches von einigen Browsern zum anzeigen von Videos und Streams benötigt wird. Das muss man dann bei diesen Versionen manuell nachinstallieren. Diese Versionen existieren, weil viele versierte User nicht einfach jeden Müll den Windows so beinhaltet automatisch installieren wollen und diese Versionen installieren oft eben auch Leute die sich nicht so gut auskennen, da diese bei einer Windows Installation ganz normal ohne weitere Hinweise mit den normalen Versionen zum Installieren aufgeführt werden.

@hguse Ja aber welche Version von Windows 10 nutzt du, was steht denn bei dir wenn du nach deinen System Informationen schaust. Steht da z.B. Windows 10 Home oder Windows 10 Home N. Denn wenn du die N-Version von Windows hast brauchst du das zusätzliche Windows Media Package damit alles reibungslos läuft an Live-Stream etc.
Die Angabe bringt mir so leider nichts, ich müsste wissen was auf der Website neben diesen Bezeichnungen für ein Zeichen zu steht (X oder ein Häkchen). Also wenn du einen Screenshot machen könntest wär das sehr hilfreich

@hguse Welche genaue Windows Version nutzt du denn, benutzt du eine N Version? (Kannst du rausfinden wenn du in der Windows-Suche nach Systeminformation suchst)

@hguse Das hört sich so an als hätte das nicht wirklich was mit deiner VPN Verbindung an sich zu tun.
Hast du schon einmal versucht den Browser wo es nicht funktioniert zu deinstallieren und neu zu installieren?
Und was erscheint denn anstelle des Live-Streams den du anschauen willst, steht dort irgendeine Fehlermeldung oder ist der Ausschnitt einfach bloß grau?
