Is there a way I can have PDF files automatically download on a select few sites & then on the rest they open in the browser?

A way to easily and quickly post a tweet or Facebook post without the full site coming up. IPhones used to have this feature, it would be something like that.

I'm not sure what I changed or did to make this start happening but if someone could please help me make it stop, I would REALLY appreciate it!!!
It overrides everything when it pops up, even if I'm in a different program / browser

I have desktop notifications enabled for a few different sites & when some of them come through, it will pop up & then a few seconds later the notification will disappear, (what I want to happen) however on others the notification box will stay open until I close the notification. How do I change that? I've looked through all of my settings & I can't see where that would be.

@pulseoxen4vyctoree were you ever able to find anything that will do this?
