[Solved]Disable automatic pdf downloadsOpera for Windows
Is there a way to view pdf's instead of automatically downloading them? Clicking a pdf downloads it, right clicking gives me no option to view it. I couldn't find a setting anywhere.
I've also searched the forums here and found two posts. One from 2017 with no help and another from 2019 that's overly complicated and confusing, plus is likely outdated. Any help would be appreciated!

@burnout426 Thanks for taking the time to try to help. @leocg listed the the pathway to get to the setting. Not sure how/why mine was downloading, but it's corrected. It was buried in there, I appreciate everyone's help!

RE: How to stop PDF automatic downloads (again)...General
@sgunhouse It seems to be only PDFs on facebook. I checked a few other sites and viewing is no issue. When I had this problem last year it was across all sites, but the solution fixed it (even on facebook). So I'm not sure if there was FB change or a bug in Opera or just something missing in my opera update, or just a compatibility thing. I'm running Opera One on Windows 10.

RE: How to stop PDF automatic downloads (again)...General
@leocg I just checked a few sites and it seems to be only PDFs from facebook. The "fix" from my previous thread last year worked on all sites. So I'm not sure if this is a programming bug or compatibility issue. I'm part of a few woodworking groups and I occasionally view PDFs with plans, if I like them I download them. Now there's no viewing them, just downloads.
Also, you moved my post out of Opera Windows, but I'm using Opera One on Windows 10. Did I post in the wrong group?

How to stop PDF automatic downloads (again)...General
Whelp, here I am not even a year after my previous post with the exact same problem. All my PDF's automatically download instead of getting a preview. I pulled up my old thread and checked my settings. Opera moved the location, but using the link in that thread pulled up the pdf settings anyway. Unfortunately, doing the same "Fix" as last time did not fix the issue.
It was already set to preview, so I tried changing it to automatically download. Closed Opera, restarted. Changed it back to preview. Closed Opera and restarted with no luck. I tried using a pdf viewer extension, but when I clicked "open in pdf viewer" a pop-up opened and said "to work properly" I had to download some random stuff from a link ... Hard pass. In fact after I uninstalled the add-on. I read the reviews and one user said that external link installed a web browser hijacker. Here's a link to the opera add-on (not the external link) in case anyone was wondering which one it was. There's a reason I have trust issues.
I'm sure nobody can tell me why Opera keeps bugging out and forcing me to download pdf's, so I'll settle for more insights on how to fix this. Please!!

RE: Two browser windows on launchOpera for Windows
@leocg @sgunhouse @johnsamir After 3 days of this "bug" it just suddenly started behaving normally this morning. I did check my startup settings to make sure everything is in order and it looks good. I'm not sure why it started or stopped on it's own, but thanks for the suggestions!

Two browser windows on launchOpera for Windows
For some reason my whenever I open Opera I get two windows (not tabs) open up. One is my shortcuts homepage with the tiles (default). The other is a login for my healthcare website. No matter how many times I shut the window it it pops back up after I close the browser and relaunch. Every. Single. Time. Anybody know how to get this second window to stop launching?
Clarification: I can close the 2nd window without issues and it stays closed. No pop ups or random windows opening. No viruslike activity. This is a launch issue. After I'm done browsing and shut the browser down, then relaunch later (or immediately) it reopens with both browser windows. If it matters, this just started happening after I used a verified link from my doctor's office to sign in.
The community has been good, hopefully you all have some answers for me

RE: [Solved]Disable automatic pdf downloadsOpera for Windows
@burnout426 I'm not sure. I don't like clicking on random PDFs. Especially if I don't know their source. Malware can easily be downloaded through PDF. No offense, but I'll pass on clicking the PDF.

@bahula I didn't think of that. I'd prefer to work within the browser settings, but if that fails, I'll definitely go this route. Thanks for the suggestion.
