Hi all – Opera for Android has a strange UX quirk. I'm using Opera 66.2.x.x, but this quirk has been in place for years. Android 12, Samsung Galaxy S21. If you start typing a term in the search bar, you'll see a number of autocomplete suggestions. This is normal in all browsers. What happens next is not normal: If you tap on one of the suggested search phrases, nothing happens. Well, a search doesn't happen. What does happen is that the term is populated in the search box. That's it.
It was very confusing at first, and still is. You have to actually tap the search or Enter button to get the search to happen. In every other browser, tapping the suggested search string is all you need to do – it runs the search. There's no need to tap any other buttons.
Is there a setting I'm missing that would make it a one-tap thing? Or can we get this modified in future releases?
Thanks.
