So my Opera updated to Opera One which I wasn't expecting. First thing , I used to be able to have an icon for my speed dial but it's not missing,
Also, for some reason, the sidebar has loads of space, a couple of icons halfway then another big gap before the remainder. Looks really weird.
I have to say ( and I have been using Opera for years) the help is anything but helpful. There is no option to sort e.g. newest post first etc.
When logging on I am asked to check some boxes allowing my data to be used. As I don't want this I click submit but then it tells me that I MUST tick the boxes to proceed.
Why suggest the choice if there isn't one?
My flow never works properly.
All these things, I may find something else.
Opera has been around long enough that it should have ironed out all these things.
Finally, I didn't get a dialog asking me to update to One.

@malcolmparkedhere Honestly I've tried this. I was fortunate enough to back up my bookmarks but I lost everything else. I do use a password manager as well so wasn't too catastrophic. My speed dials, pin boards etc, all gone. I have also had really frustrating problems with Flow. For some reason I opened the browser one day and the Flow screen was blank. I never got that working again until I did a completely clean reinstall. I've had other problems to for which I have never heard back from Opera support.
I've used Opera for years but have come close to giving up with it because the help or support is nonexistant.

@LaurentPine TBH I tried everything before I reinstalled.
I simply don't have the time to trawl through help and forums at the moment.
I also use Firefox as a back up these days...

I had to just re-import bookmarks etc. in the end. It was a pain.
I also did a complete uninstall/reinstall so at least my flow is working across devices now.

I'm on win10.
I restarted my machine earlier and when I open up Opera it had the update logo thing and the browser is totally reset. All my bookmarks, all my speed dials, everything is gone. I'm so angry as I just spent some time getting it to the way I want. WTF is this? Can I get my data back??

for an answer that i would have thought would be on here.
i seem to have no way of modifying ( specifically deleting, search engines.
also, whenever i start opera the first search engine i go to will be yahoo when my preference is google or duckduckgo).
i have sought info with no joy. anyone on here got advice?
