Can't import saved passwords from Firefox to Opera 29.0.1795.54600

I just installed Opera on Windows 8.1 (x64) due to severe performance problems with firefox. I went to import my settings, bookmarks, passwords etc from firefox. The only thing that failed to import were my saved passwords.
I'm not certain why this feature is there, if it doesn't function. Is there any way to import my saved passwords from firefox into Opera? If I absolutely have to, I will enter all my passwords again, but if I can import them, I'd rather do that.

I was using SeaMonkey instead of FireFox but because both use the Mozilla engine I think my experience is comparable. Anyway, I never managed to get this working. Eventually I simply exported my bookmarks in HTML format, imported that into Opera and that was the end of it. The only passwords which Opera was able to import were those of Internet Explorer.
So... This maybe a little far fetched but if you keep running into issues then perhaps you could get Internet Explorer to import the whole FireFox kaboodle after which you import all of that into Opera again. I know it's a little bit of overhead, but if it works... Do note that I have no idea if MSIE actually supports this, esp. because I don't use Windows 8.

Nope. Windows Internet Explorer doesn't have this feature for passwords, but thanks for the recommendation.

I'm having the same trouble. I know how to get to the password import button in Opera, but it doesn't do anything other than tell me it was successful when it obviously wasn't.
It would be helpful under "Manage Passwords" to give an option to ADD or IMPORT there that works.

For this, and other reasons, I gave up on both firefox, and opera. Instead, I switched to Google Chrome. Seems to work better for me.
