Newbie question: does speed dial add most visited websites automatically?

I just started to use Opera on my mac a few days ago. I am trying to figure out how speed dial works. I know I can always add links or extensions to it by myself. I'd also like to know if it actually save frequently visited websites automatically.In the online help documents, it says speed dial will save most visited websites automatically. I don't know it applies to the current version I use on mac, but I haven't seen it happened during my time of use.

No and Opera never ever done that. You're free to add the pages you want.
