Any special Mac-only things missing in Opera?

I understand that bookmarks are gone past release 12. This seems to be established fact and not worthy of discussion, probably because this has been known for some time.
So, please bring back bookmarks!

Does Opera use App Nap?
Yes. You can see that in Activity Monitor. Apps are set to ‘napping’ after some time of inactivity.

+1 for Notification Centre support.
Not sure whether it counts as a mac only-thing, but I think the browser will have a much more native feeling when the settings are in a regular menu instead of a page.

I like fast switching backward and forward between the last two tabs used by keyboard. This seems to be possibly currently only under Windows as mentioned in the flags. And there is also no extension available... please bring this back on Mac tooRemove Word form Dictionary:
In most dictionaries of any application s it is possible to add a unknown word, but none of there allow removing an accidentally added word, to prevent later mistakes by using it. The old Opera had this feature available and I used it often.... please bring it back.Hilsen fra Tyskland

What, exactly, do you want to see in the Notification Center?
Option to always open in private mode in operas setting/options.
You can achieve this by starting Opera with the
-privateargument in the Terminal (or from a double-clickable alias or script). This will not be added to Preferences.Remove Word form Dictionary:

The old Opera had this feature available and I used it often.... please bring it back.Opera 15 and newer uses the built-in spelling system (AppleSpell/Hunspell). Because of this, there is no separate user interface for manipulating dictionaries or the custom dictionary. There are third-party applications dedicated to manipulating the custom dictionary.
You can add or remove words from your dictionary by opening the Terminal and typing
open -e ~/Library/Spelling/LocalDictionary. There you will find a list of line-separated words which is your custom dictionary. -

I know this has been mentioned several times but we need to be able to import BOOKMARKS from another browser.
For me, this is currently the only obstacle to making Opera my main browser.The other hurdle was 1Password and I am really glad that the extension is now available. Congratulations!
What developers need to be aware of is that users don't want to waste time when they have already invested time an energy in organizing their information. There are two components that need to be taken into account here:
- The need to have the freedom to migrate from another application;
- The liberty to export that information into another format, should the need arise (nobody wants to be locked up with a proprietary format).
The second one is crucial for those who have a long-term perspective, i.e., what will happen to the data I have collected and organized in, let's say 20 years from now?
Thank you in advance for taking into account these fundamental wishes. Opera is a wonderful alternative to mainstream browsers. -

I realize that the above comment does not really fit within this thread, in the sense that the greyed-out "Bookmark Importer" is not a "Mac-only thing." Yet, using a Mac or not, average and power users alike are put off by the absence of this basic feature.
There is one "Mac-only thing" that I could suggest: greater integration with scholarly tools.
For instance, Mellel is one of the preferred word-processors for those who care about writing, and it is often used in conjunction with Bookends for references. It would be ideal if Opera could serve as the third element of this triad by facilitating the toggling back and forth between the browser and the word-processor, enabling for instance to select text from a website that could then be pasted in a chosen format with a short-cut. For instance, I am dealing with Chinese sources and often need to look up a particular expression in the online Buddhist Canon. Jumping from there to the word-processor, occasionally copying a passage, would be a wonderful addition.In this business-centered world, it would be nice for Opera developers to target a slightly different niche of users, who are maybe more critical of mainstream software. Opera could market itself as the equivalent of "organic food" in the browser competition.

Completed downloads, and not sure if possible, but it would be great if extensions could use it as well.
Other specific Mac things that I would like to see supported are iCloud tabs and iCloud keychain.

iCloud Bookmarks syncing to stash, speed dial, or bookmarks.. since Safari is the default iphone browser.

I think battery life is very important for Opera because Google Chrome drain our battery and this feature can improve Opera popularity among Mac users.

Looks like chromium has been working on integrating app nap etc... so it can fully suspend background tabs like safari, so hopefully we see this in opera as well in the near future: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=310374
The bug report says this will be in chrome version 42, so shouldn't be too long until we see it methinks

- A better and simpler way to manage bookmarks, like inSafari, it is not even possible to sort and display them at the first level of the bookmarks menu in Opera…
- Open back a tab or a window closed by inadvertence
- 64 bit

- Modify on the fly the search engine

Please ignore the point about Pinch to Zoom, it is already here! I mainly use Safari because of the reader feature. Having several browsers is always a good idea on all platforms, just incase websites don't work with one, they may work with another. Sorry for the confusion. I can't edit my post, because it is awaiting moderation.
