The preview function works a bit different when you create a post and when you comment on an existing post. The last mentioned works always better for me, the first doesn't always support the markdown. And the second one looks much nicer also, the first has an ugly pop-up.

Can you make the first preview like the second?

Picture of first, bad previw (when you create a thread):

      First

Picture of second, good preview (when you comment a thread):

      Second

        We know that.
I think only the markup rendering is an issue here - I don't mind it being popped up.

Just adding my +1: no markdown in create post preview makes it almost useless.

Also the popup is quite small in width, and too much space is used by the avatar column, so the text is wrapped in an ugly way (just compare in the gustavwiz' screenshot).

There might be a point against making it THE SAME as the usual comment preview.

Once for sure I lost my elaborated input thinking I'd already posted the stuff - exactly because it looks practically the same.
Sure now I'm trying to make sure I HAVE posted stuff - by checking if something else is in place - like my badges, certain buttons, etc...
But think of the difference between losing a comment and losing an entire OP. Yes, it's lost - you can't come back in any way... <_<

Good point, and actually that has happened me too.

Perhaps they can still do it like a normal comment preview, but surround it with a thick red border or something, that indicates that it's only a preview, and that the user hasn't posted it yet.
