Am I the only person who is experiencing Opera 29 not starting at all??

I does not start on my office desktop - WinXP SP3 64 bit.
And it also does not start at my home desktop - Win8.1.

I've to manually downgrade to version 28.

Event viewer has these messages (one for each opera.exe process):

Faulting application name: opera.exe, version: 29.0.1795.47, time stamp: 0x5530644f

Use a program like Revo Uninstaller to white out Opera (back up your important Opera files first though) and then do a fresh install. That fix it?

Completely removed all versions of Opera (Dev, Beta, Stable) from PC, i.e. uninstall, remove Program files (x86)\Opera folders, clean up registry, %temp% path, Opera's folders in C:\Users\AppData.

Installed 29 - same issue, does not start and same message appears in event viewer.
            Please fix it!!

Do you have any anti-virus software running? Try temporarily disabling it and see if that helps. Running a scnal of your system with Malwarebytes couldn't hurt either but I don't know if it would help that much in this case.

              Please fix it!!

We can't fix it, we aren't developers. This is just a user support forum. Sorry.

This happens on 3 Windows systems I have - Win XP x64 at work, Win7 corporate laptop and Win8.1 home desktop.
I can blame antivirus on coroprate systems, but there is no antivirus, firewalls or something on my home PC - anyway previous Opera installations were working fine on these machines.

I have to stick with O28 right now - can't upgrade.
Renamed opera_autoupdate.exe to opera_autoupdate.ex_ to disable update cause there is no other way I know of.

Do you use 'continue where I left off'? We've found some that some PCs, especially lower end PCs, have trouble if the file that store that info gets too large. If you open your Opera profile folder and delete the 3 files that begin with 'session' you might see an improvement. Then turn off 'continue where I left off' and you should be all set.

If you still want some kind of session feature I recommend installing Session Buddy. Its the best session manager I have ever used.

It's not important whether I use 'continue when I left off' or not since I cleaned up whole machine from all instances of Opera (read my post above).
So, it does not install on clear machine.

O28 also stopped saving passwords at all.
