How to Stop opera_autoupdate completely?

I'm already running Opera with the "Opera\launcher.exe --disable-update"
But I notice that even without starting Opera at all, when I start Windows, after a while "opera_autoupdate.exe" is asking to connect to internet.
How do I stop that? (I tried changing the name to "opera_autoupdate2.exe" and while that used to work on Windows XP, on Windows 7 I get an error saying Opera Internet Browser stop working (Again, when I never started it in the first place)
Hope is there a fix for this, and on future version Opera stop been so annoying trying to make us update the Browser.

What is the problem on updating? Unless you are the kind of person who prefers to know what is going.

Is that "opera_update" listed in your system's "Autorun"?
Have you tried allowing it to connect, by the way?

Look in the Windows Task Scheduler.
You probably have an Opera update task there.
Disable it.

sidneyneto The problem with updating is that Opera is getting worst every version. So I want to keep using the one I know works for me. And I want to be the one to decide when to upgrade, I don't need Opera checking it for me every day, several times a day.
joshl the "opera_autoupdate.exe" isn't on msconfig.exe "Windows Start" for sure it's running from somewhere else, and I'm not sure where.
davehawley, Thanks I found there the Opera Autoupdate scheduled, I think this is new for me, at least on Windows XP never used
Thanks everyone for the feedback, I think this will fix it.
