Since the new update I'm having the issue that Opera GX keeps freezing when trying to load YouTube videos or Twitch streams. It doesn't unfreeze no matter how long I wait. Nothing responds. I have to manually close the browser with Task Manager.
Everything else seems to work, just the video websites seem like causing the issue

I’d try disabling hardware acceleration first, since the freezing only happens on video sites. Also test without extensions or in a private window to see if something is interfering with YouTube/Twitch.

Glad you found the cause. Hardware acceleration can sometimes cause problems, specifically with video playback, so disabling it is a good thing to try when the rest of the browser works normally.

i Disabled hardware acceleration and it fixed it but why ? I've been using it for years with no issues. disabling hardware acceleration makes typing in a new tab super laggy and overall a bad experience. is there no other way? I'm forced to switch browsers now which sucks.
