[Request]Allow to have search engine other than Yandex

I understand why Yandex would be a default and unchangeable search engine in Russia, but forcing other countries to use their search engine is meaningless and unreasonable. Why do we have to follow these regulations if we live in a completely separate state that just happens to have Russian as a majority language? Please remove this limitation for everyone but RU region. Thank you for your attention.

As a workaround, you can close Opera and edit the "Local State" file in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable" with a text editor or JSONedit in tree mode.

Under location, you can change the country and country_from_server values from their current country code to US for example and save your changes.

Opera must be properly closed and not running when you open the "Local State" file and edit it. Otherwise, your changes will be reverted.

@burnout426 I did this and it didn't work until I reinstalled opera using the installer

@burnout426 i don't think there was an option, no. I've changed the locale in the fine to US and reinstalled it which was enough to remove region restrictions.

That’s interesting, I wonder if changing the installer language is what actually makes the workaround stick.
