Since installing the latest Opera update, I have been experiencing a recurring flickering issue while working in Opera. This happens repeatedly while I am working.

The issue only occurs inside Opera and does not happen in any other applications or anywhere else on my computer.

The issue was not happening before the latest update, so I suspect it may be related to the new version, GPU acceleration, color management, or display rendering.

Please let me know if there are any recommended settings, troubleshooting steps, or fixes for this issue.

You can test if it happens in a test standalone installation.

You can adjust the Angle flag to see if one of the options for the flag avoids the flickering while keeping hardware acceleration enabled for most things at the URL opera://gpu.

You can disable graphics acceleration at the URL opera://settings/system to test if it helps.

If you're using a game ready driver for your GPU, try using the stable/studio driver instead.

You can make a test standalone installation of the last build of Opera to see if it works fine or if Opera updating was just a coincidence.

You can disable lucid mode at the URL opera://settings/lucidMode to see if that helps.

You can disable Early Bird at the URL opera//settings/early_bird to see if it helps.

You can test if it only happens with certain themes.

@burnout426 I think it was a problem with Nvidia drivers v. 616.56. I made downgrade to 610.88 and all is good.
