I hope someone can help me. I've been using Opera for a very long time on Windows 11. Last night I installed Brave to check it out and let it import settings from Opera. Opera was open at the time and running fine. Today I noticed in Opera that it had done an automatic update, so I clicked the option to let Opera restart to complete the update. Ever since then Opera can't open my profile. I tried rebooting my laptop. I've tried uninstalling Brave, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Opera. I tried installing an older version of Opera. I've tried renaming the Users\L<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable folder so it would create a new one. I tried disabling Eset which I use as my antivirus and firewall software. None of this has fixed the problem of Opera not opening my profile. I am the Windows administrator. I run Opera without logging into my account. In fact until I needed to post, I did not have an account. Everything was local and not synced to an account. This has left Opera unusable for me. Is there any way to fix this?

Same issue with a test standalone installation?

You can also try uninstalling Opera, renaming the roaming and local "Opera Software" folders and then manually clean up anything left before reinstalling Opera. Sometimes that works, for some reason.

@burnout426 I haven't tried standalone installation. Have limited time to mess with this over the next few days, but will try it when I can. I have already renamed the entire Opera Software folder in Roaming and reinstalled. Haven't tried renaming the folder in Local. Didn't know about that one. Will try that too when I have time.
