Hi thanks in advance to anyone who who has an idea. I just downloaded and started using Opera in place of Chrome a couple of weeks ago. I like the browser except for a couple of weird issues. I am running Vista. Opera version is 28.0.1750.48. My main problem is that Opera seems to go inactive or crashes if I leave it open without doing anything for a little while, like maybe 10 minutes. When I return the page won't scroll up and down anymore. Sometimes the bookmarks bar icons launch their preset sites and it begins scrolling again on a new page, sometimes the bookmarks bar icons are inactive. Sometimes the back or reload buttons work, opther times no. Finally, sometimes the close program X closes the program and other times I have to launch Task Manager to close the program. None of my other browsers exhibit this problem. After restarting Opera it works fine again until it sits inactive for a time again. Thanks for any ideas.

Judging by quite a bunch of similar problems threads, I guess V.28 is buggy and/or not universally compatible.

Others might suggest workarounds or something, but there's this: you can download "Opera Next" or "Opera Developer" to see if the next versions exhibit something similar on your system.
(You can use up to three kinds of Opera independently with the same installation status: "Opera Stable", "Opera Next" and "Opera Developer" update independently and don't mess with one another.)
