Gaming on Opera for Windows – Performance, GX Features & Experience
-

Hello everyone,
I want to discuss gaming experience on Opera for Windows, especially for users who play online games, browser games, or casual PC games while using Opera.
I’ve noticed that Opera offers some useful features for gamers, such as:
Built-in ad blocker (helps reduce distractions during gaming)
GX Control / RAM & CPU limiter (very helpful when games are running in background)
Easy access to gaming sites and web games
Smooth performance while watching game streams or walkthrough videos
However, I have a few questions for other Windows users:
Is Opera GX better than normal Opera for gaming on PC?
Does limiting RAM/CPU actually improve game FPS on low-end systems?
Any recommended settings for gaming performance on Windows?
Have you faced any issues while playing browser-based games on Opera?
I’d love to hear your tips, settings, or real gaming experiences using Opera on Windows. Your feedback can really help other gamers choose the right setup.
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I’ve been using Opera on my computer for daily browsing and honestly it has improved my overall experience, especially while playing word puzzle games like Letter Boxed.
Opera’s built-in ad blocker and clean interface really help when you’re focusing on vocabulary-based games. Letter Boxed requires concentration, quick thinking, and smooth performance, and Opera handles it well without unnecessary popups or lag.
Another feature I like is Workspaces, where I keep my puzzle games separate from other tabs. It makes switching between research, notes, and gameplay very convenient. Plus, Opera’s performance on low to mid-range PCs is quite stable, which is a big plus.
If anyone here enjoys NYT-style word games or Letter Boxed specifically, I’d definitely recommend trying them on Opera for desktop. Curious to know if others are using Opera for online games or puzzles and what your experience has been so far.
Thanks!
