Opera 12.16 crashing with multiple tabs

Opera seems to have a very reproducible problem with multiple tabs - I can be certain that if I have more than about 17-20 tabs open Opera is going to crash within a few minutes when trying to do something on it (open new link, activate some javascripted button, etc). And the auto-restore feature for crash recovery often does not work since when Opera tries to relaunch it finds that another instance is still running, and you are forced to quit it and wait a few seconds then relaunch, and it then comes up without the restored tabs.This is on a Win 7 system with plenty of free memory (16 gigs of ram). If this cannot be fixed it makes Opera a pretty unworkable browser for me.

It’s because of the content of one or more of your tabs (maybe some have huge javascript loops, etc.).
Some websites are difficult for Opera but I’m always using Opera 12.16 with more than 20 tabs open and no problem.
