@jonaballen I just updated it and opera still can't open on my ipad 9, which is running ipados 26.
If anything, it is worse now, because now the ipad is restarting the whole system after about a minute of loading. -

@jonaballen I installed 6.1.3, but it didn't bring the expected solution. Still keeps crashing on the loading screen no matter how often I try to restart the process...
PS: Just checked the Apple app store reviews, it seems there are many people with the same issue

How does it crash, is it just frozen spinner?
or does it just go down and return you to homescreen?Can you also let us know which device you use and can you also try to restart after you restarted the device and wait a few minutes without opening any other apps.
(The more apps you have open the more memory will be in use. After a restart, once the system finishes a few background tasks memory use should be at a minimum)
P.S. also does the progress run longer after a retry or does it crash at the same approximate time all the time?

@rhamonster
Hi
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Are you saying that the entire device restarts?Can you tell how long you have been using opera and how many tabs you might have?
Best regards,
Opera Team -

@jonaballen I use an iphone 13 pro max on ios26
I get the spinner for approx 40sec before the app closes and I'm back on the homescreen.
It always runs approx the same time, definitely not much difference before the app shut itself down.
Tried it several times in a row, always the same.
Tried it directly after restarting the device, no change. -

@jonaballen I have been using opera since my Nintendo DS.
haha, I'm kidding, I know what you mean.• iPad 9, 64GB, running iPadOS 26;
• Opera is updated to latest version 6.1.3, released yesterday;
• My opera is running in PT-BR language (but I also tried changing to EN-US);
• I have been using Opera on this device for about two years;
• I have about 1 thousand tabs open;
• Opera is the only app open during all tests;
• Device has 18GB of storage available;
• Device is connected at close range to Wi-Fi 5GHZ, ISP at 800mbps speed;
• Device is connected to power brick;What it does when I click on Opera:
It spins on a white screen that says it is "migrating screenshots of my tabs" (I'm translating loosely here). That goes on for 90+ seconds. Then, the screen turns black, the text vanishes, but it keeps spinning for another 90+ seconds. Then, either the iPad just locks up, or it restarts (yes, the entire device). I put my password, and it goes to the main screen, and opera is minimized to the dock.
Usually, the first cycle it just locks up, and the second cycle I try, it restarts the whole device.Thanks!

@rhamonster thanks, the shared info gave us a few insights and ideas. We can now replicate the scenario in house.
We have some idea of what could be the issue (memory related) and we are working on another fix.
We understand the problem, but its tricky to implement, so I cant give you a timeframe when we have a solution.Hopefully, within days.
Thank you fpr you help and patience!
