Opera GX is deleting my history even after I use a backup History File

I've been having an issue recently where the majority of my Opera GX browser history had seemingly been deleted. It only shows me history going back to the start of June. When going into my App Data, I can see that the current History file is 800 kb large.
Luckily I had backup files that contained the old History file before this issue had started. That backup History file says it's 94.9 mb large. I attempted to copy the backup file into my current folder but, when I reopen Opera GX the file goes from 94.9 mb back down to 800 kb.
I'm not sure why or how it's doing this. I've tried copying over the entire AppData folder but it always resets the file to 800kb when I open Opera GX. And I've tried to put the History file in "Read-only" but that just makes my Browser history empty.
