Can only access any site from Opera GX with a vpn

Hello,
Having a weird issue where, suddenly this morning my vpn asked me to log back in (13/06/2025 bst).
My vpn, nord, was blocked, and accessing any site in Opera GX was unable to load. Youtube, Discord, Nord, google docs... Anything I tried wouldn't load.
Had to go back to Chrome, download a different vpn extension, use that to download Nord, then, when nord was running... now I can actually access sites again.
Tried a variety of things before this, and I cannot understand what's going on, and it's going on but I'm logged back into nord so it's fine until Nord logs out me next.
None of the threads I looked at helped, at all. Most just spiraled with no one actually confirming any solutions worked.
Can anyone help identify why this is happening, and what solves it?

So, as a test (not a solution), if you uninstall (not just disable) Nord and make sure to remove its threat protection extension at the URL
opera://extensionsif it's still there, Opera won't be able to connect to the sites you mention?If so, any difference with DNS over HTTPS enabled at the URL
opera://settings/systemwith Cloudflare selected?Do you have any other security software like Kaspersky?

If this is on Windows, test with "Automatically detect settings" off in "Settings -> Network & Internet -> Proxy" in Windows. Make sure "Use a proxy server" is off too. If on macOS, you'll have to find those settings.

@burnout426 Completely deleted and reinstalled Nord twice. It only seemed to affect GX as well, as I also use Chrome and Firefox.
Uninstalled GX completely and reinstalled it as well, and in the morning it wasn't as bad as it would load all by the nord redirect (including Nord's site itself), but when I got back from work.
Just as it wasn't mentioned, basically every site never loads. In dev tools, nothing appears in network or console.
But no, I tried that before getting the other vpn on Chrome, and still an issue I'm having. Nord itself is blocked by my sky broadband apparently, so that makes sense. But I can't get on any sites now, youtube, discord, without a vpn on GX now.

By "completely", you also deleted or renamed the "Opera GX Stable" folders in both "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Opera Software"?
Also, try things in a test standalone installation to test if there's a difference there.
It's still sounds like something is blocking just Opera's connections.
