YouTube controls affecting other tabs

Hi there, did a forum wide search before posting this and found the exact same problem has been posted about 5 years ago marked as "resolved" and locked without actually being resolved with the last post of the OP stating it could be a virus as it is browser-wide for him, while for me it is only happening in Opera:

only active extension that is installed next to vpn and opera wallet since stock (not used and not activated) is the R>eturn YouTube Dislike browser extension
