Youtube Livestreams Freeze and Memory Leak

Recently, whenever i started watching a livestream they freeze in about 3 seconds.
I found there was a memory leak, most likely caused by the chat as streams with the chat disabled work normally
i think it could be fault of a chat extension i had also downloaded recently, but it still happens after i removed it.
Has anyone had this problem before or know how i can fix it?
