I have never gotten Opera to work with youtube. I have to use Firefox. I tried various forms of html5 etc.
Has anyone overcome this error symptom?

        What's your Opera?
I have 11, and it is basically o'k with YouTube - only a bit slow loading elements...

What error messages do you get, if any? What version of Flash is listed in your plugins? Is it PPAPI or NPAPI? Have you tried going to youtube in a private window? Were the results different? What extensions do you have installed?

Thank you. Those are all good questions. Am sorry I forgot to add that I do NOT have Flash installed, and I'm on Opera V12.17.
I am able to run youtube on Firefox without Flash. As the title above states, the error I get is "an error occurred. please try again later". It's very consistently very stupid about what kind of error did occur. Sort of reminds of "bad command or file name" from years past.
I have extensions: Smartvideo for youtube, Youtube html5 unblocker. Ghostery, Adblock plus.

Your version of Opera is too old. Google, the owners of Youtube, have been actively discouraging people from using outdated browsers and this might be a result of that. If the newer versions of Opera aren't your style give Vivaldi a try. Its not as stable or feature complete as Opera 12 was but its built on a modern renderer and has a future.
