Universal version not working on Intel Mac?

We were going to deploy the "Universal" build of Opera to both our Apple Silicon and Intel macs, but -- on the intel computers -- Opera 117.0.5408.154 is giving an "At least one file with resources (.pak) is corrupted. Please reinstall Opera".

Is this to be expected? Do we need to deploy "Universal" to AS macs and the "intel" build to the Intel macs? Thanks!
