  • Hi all,
Due to a PC upgrade I had to move to a fresh OS install, new HDD, new OS (x64). So I still have my old HDD untouched.
How can I move my opera settings, especially passwords?
I need solutions. Ben reading the explanations about OS encrypted zone... it is not helping me.
So, how can I move my bookmarks and my passwords to new opera. I am using on both PC the same opera version 27.0.
Thank you all for your time.

  • You can copy your profile folder over to your new install (standard profile path is C:\Users\You\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software). You'll get everything except your passwords cause those are encrypted and unfortunately bound to your (old) user account.

  • That's the main problem. I need the passwords.

  • The passwords are locked to the OS install. I recommend you use a password storage problem like Keepass. It allows you to export your passwords as a file so you can back them up to transfer them easily. This doesn't help you now but it will in the future if you use it. Love and learn.

  • Is there a way to recover my data/passwords from "Login Data" the same way I use to do with wand?
I wonder why did they encrypt it by OS... much easier was to provide a master pass so I can migrate my info.
I was about to start working on both machine, my PC and Laptop... how can I do that if I can not copy my data.
