I opened Opera this morning, and it is no longer able to load most websites. The sites give this message: The webpage at http://xxxx/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Some sites like Google continue to load, so it seems like a possible DNS issue.

However, if I open a private window, the sites will load correctly. Also, sites load correctly in other browsers.

I have a lot of bookmarks and saved passwords that I want to keep, so I don't want to entirely delete my profile. What can I do to get Opera to load my pages again?

After a bit more digging, seems I had accidentally activated Opera Turbo. Solved.

I have the reverse problem. I can open any site with the regular browser but if I'm in a private window with VPN enabled, while opening any site I get: "The webpage at http://xxx might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address", same as you had.

Opera Turbo and VPNs work in similar ways. Its not that unlikely that they would generate similar errors on some websites.

@patstuart Hi Pat, this appears to be a bug because it is happening to me and I've posted a separate thread, a lot of guys are having the same issue with VPN in private windows. We can only hope someone looks into it.
