Webkit based Opera, problems with client certs?

Hello,
following effect occures in both, current version 19 and 20 of Opera.
When accessing a site via SSL with no client certificate in user store (under Windows I guess the OS cert store is used) or no client cert that has been signed by the CA the SSL site is offering during SSL handshake (in request client cert section), accessing the site is working.
Behaviour of IE when doing the same is that it offers any client cert in user store, even if it is not signed by the CA(s) offered for client cert logon during SSL handshake. As soon as a client certificate fits to a CA offered, Opera endlessly stalls the request like a site is not responding.
Checking this process with a sniffer shows that Opera terminates the TCP session within the SSL handshake took place and nothing more happens.
Behaviour of IE when doing the same is that it offers any client cert in store even if it is not signed by the CA(s) offered for client cert logon during SSL handshake. Choosing the right one leads to a successful logon. Cancel cert selection leads to a basic authentication popup when the site is not requiring client cert logon. Is there any cert choice popup that Opera needs to do but which is not visible for me?
Can I force Opera not to care about client certs as iterims solution?best regards
