Well, i am still on version 12.17

Everytime i start up it will prompt me to upgrade to the latest version. Can i don't upgrade?

Opera 12.17 was the last one of the engine it used. New versions opera 15 and up use the chrome engine. Since 12.17 doesn't update to the new engine versions you have to download it here: http://www.opera.com/computer/windows

Just install the new version to a different directory so you retain version 12.17.

If you dont want updates in Opera 12.17:

1. open opera:config#UserPrefs|DisableOperaPackageAutoUpdate
2. tick Disable Opera Package AutoUpdate
3. Hit button Save
4. Restart Opera 12
