Opera26 won't open

Hi, I enjoy using Opera but recently I have a problem getting it to open from the desktop icon.
My pc runs Windows 7 and is only 3 years old - HP Touchsmart 310.
Any suggestions?

If you right click the icon, under "Properties", what is the complete path listed under "Target"?

If you navigate along that folder path and double-click the launcher.exe file, does Opera open? Also, if it doesn't, in Task Manager, are there any Opera processes started?
