Freezing when text is highlighted

More and more recently, when Opera has been open for a while and I've been typing a lot, the browser will freeze when I highlight text. (Specifically and only highlighting text, even before I do anything with it.) Minimizing it by clicking on the pinned icon and opening it again fixes the issue, but it's happening an increased amount and is impacting my work. Is this a ram issue? Does it need more power? No amount of waiting will fix it, but minimizing and opening again instantly does, so it doesn't seem like a computing power problem to me.
