Browser Takes Forever to Delete Bookmarks and Save Window as Speed Dial Folder

Ever since I started using opera I have noticed any time that I save a window, the whole Opera GX program initially freezes and says not responding, and then after that goes away I can't interact with the tabs again for anywhere between 1 minute and upwards of 20 minutes depending on the number of tabs. I have also noticed a similar issue when deleting bookmarks when it doesn't allow me to interact with my tabs. Same thing happens where depending on how many bookmarks, it can take between 5 minutes and upwards of 30 to 40 minutes before I can use the browser again. Is this something that is "supposed" to happen? Is it just really slow by default? Is there a fix or something I can do to speed it up? Mainly because I want to go through and delete all the bookmarks but I don't want it to take multiple days where I can't use Opera GX.
