Does the latest update keep your tabs?

So far all updates to Opera GX did not require me to download a new client and did not have a flashy sign saying "download->install->import settings". That makes me think I will lose my tabs and other settings if I upgrade to this. Is this true?

The latest Opera GX version (112.0.5197.104 at this moment) does indeed keep your tabs as long as you have "Retain tabs from previous session" set at the URL
opera://settings/onStartup
. And, when upgrading to it from 112.0.5197.100, tabs were kept no problem. If upgrading from 109.0.5097.142, they should be kept, but I have not personably tested that scenario. Also, if your session files are corrupted in some way, an issue could come about with any upgrade.
With that said, right-click on a tab, goto "save" and choose "all tabs to a speed dial folder". Then, if you use workspaces, repeat for each workspace and then rename the folders so you know what folder is for what workspace. Then, if you use multiple windows, repeat for all your other windows.
Then, goto the URL
opera://bookmarks
and use the drop-down at the bottom left to export your bookmarks to an HTML file. Then, if something happens to your tabs, you can right-click the speed dial folder and choose "open all in tabs". And, you if you use workspaces, you can repeat that for each workspace etc.
And, if you happen to lose your bookmarks for some weird reason, you can goto the URL
opera://settings/importData
, choose "Bookmarks HTML file" in the drop-down and point it to the HTML file to import your bookmarks back. Then, you can right-click on those speed dial folders to get your open tabs back. So, that should have you covered so you can update.
For extra good measure though, while Opera GX is closed, back up the "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera GX Stable" folder so that you can restore it if anything happens because of upgrading.
