I have a main pc and 2 laptops all running mint

I mostly work on the pc, but use each laptop often and pretty much nothing is syncing.... and even if it did there is no way to control the direction of sync.... I want the laptops to match up to the pc once I boot them up
and I sure as hell dont need the laptop wiping my setup on the pc....so maybe its good its a total fail.

None of it seems to work and from what I have seen in search most of the topics in here go unanswered.

I recently switched over to opera and Im getting close to saying f-it and bailing, I find Im spending more time dealing with this browser than using it... not a great impression.

I really love many of the things the folks developing it have done but some of the fundamentals are so badly lacking ... like sync that doesnt... video that wont play... tabs, more importantly pinned tabs dont all... and worse workspaces (the feature that got me to switch) only save whatever is the open one.

So far no amount of plugins has come close to solving the issues and using this has become a time suck. I just want set it up have everything sync and go about my business... but instead it feels like a high maintenance relationship and non of it is going my way...lol

I got on here to try get a bit of sync support and it turned into a lot of whining...lol

but its feeling like a visit to vivaldi might be in order and maybe that is the simpler solution, sad because this gets so much right, and it still feels like a fail.

Sorry about all the whining but if you cant tell Im a bit frustrated with the amount of time I have spent on this for it to keep putting dumb crap in the way.

All that being said....lol if you have a simple, non time suck solution to fix the sync I would love to be wrong 🙂

@brenwa said in sync is feeling pretty useless... its making opera a bit useless:

I tried to edit the original post and didnt see how....(seems appropriate...lol)

I sort of solved the problems I have been having, I gave vivaldi a spin and was able to do everything I want my browser to do without much effort, and so far not a single fail.

Im not sh*tting on opera here.. it does a lot of things really well, it simply didnt fit my needs, nothing more.
