Customizing Opera 26

I would like to configure Opera so that new pages and tabs do not display either the default search bar or speed dial boxes - I'm looking to display my custom background either with or without the speed dial/discover/bookmarks sidebar. Can this be done? Setting my homepage to About:Blank simply returns a blank white window.
Also, is there a listing of Opera's internal pages available? If so, where can I get it? It seems to me that both Chrome and Firefox provide this detailed information more readily than does Opera - unless I've totally missed an Opera support/documentation channel...

Setting my homepage to About:Blank simply returns a blank white window.
Just knock out a basic html page with your background image, save it somewhere convenient and set it as your homepage.

I can only help you with one of the things you asked for. To hide the default search bar, follow these steps:
- Press Alt P to enter opera's setting
- Move cursor and press left mouse button on a blank area so there is no "I" bar in the "search settings box"
- Using the arrow keys using this combination ↑↑↓↓← → ← → b a You now see a box pop up that says "power user settings". Click on "I understand, proceed" button.
- Scroll down to "Start Page" area. Place a check mark "Hide the search box in Speed Dial"
