This is a recent issue and I cannot find many other people discussing this online. When I open Opera on my iphone, I get sent to some newspage about politics. I have disabled the homepage newsfeed via app sertings, but the issue persists. Closing the tab is easy, but it is rather irksome nonetheless, and feels as if the site is making an active attempt to forcefeed me news that I am not interested in seeing when I open the app. Does anyone else also have this issue/know of a fix?

@maxspeed000333 I have been having the same issue for a while now, I too have disabled the news in the app settings, and i still get the random news sites on app launch.

@maxspeed000333 same issue for me with news disabled. I wonder if it’s a tactic to get more revenue by funneling traffic to sites opera is partnered with. Sketchy. Gonna uninstall opera until this is resolved.
